RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education continues to build up its commitment to improving the quality of educational services through the revitalization program of educational units, especially in schools that require priority handling. The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, made the statement during the inauguration of the revitalization of educational units in Pati Regency at SMP Negeri 8 Pati, Sunday, April 12, 2026.
He stated that the revitalization program is part of the national strategic policy in supporting the realization of quality, safe, and equitable education throughout Indonesia. "We focus the revitalization of educational units on schools affected by disasters, 3T areas (Underdeveloped, Frontier, and Outermost), and schools that have suffered severe damage, as an effort to ensure that all students can learn in a safe and decent environment," the Minister said.
In 2025, the education unit revitalization program was supported by a budget of Rp16.9 trillion and reached more than 16 thousand education units across Indonesia. This program includes the construction and rehabilitation of various educational facilities and infrastructure, such as classrooms, libraries, laboratories, computer rooms, sanitation facilities, and other supporting facilities.
In Pati Regency, 90 educational units have benefited from the revitalization program, which is utilized to improve the quality of school infrastructure. This effort is expected to create a safer, more comfortable, and conducive learning environment for both students and educators.
One of the beneficiaries, SMP Negeri 1 Gembong, Pati Regency, has felt a significant impact from the revitalization program, which includes classroom rehabilitation, the construction of a computer laboratory, a Student Health Unit (UKS), and sanitation facilities.
The head of SMP Negeri 1 Gembong, Istiana, stated that before the revitalization, the condition of the school's facilities and infrastructure was severely damaged and affected the learning process. "Before being revitalized, the condition of our school building was damaged from the floor to the roof. When it rained, water would enter the classrooms, disrupting the teaching and learning activities," Istiana stated.
After the revitalization, she stated that the conditions changed significantly and provided a sense of safety and comfort for all school residents. "After the revitalization, learning became much safer and more comfortable. Students feel happier being at school, and the learning atmosphere became more conducive," she said.
