RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia and India boost cooperation in higher education to promote internationalization and develop globally competitive human resources.

The initiative was highlighted during a meeting between Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, and India’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Sandeep Chakravorty, along with a delegation from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

According to a press release issued by the ministry, Minister Brian, welcomed the proposed collaboration, noting that it could expand access to quality education while strengthening international partnerships among Indonesia and India universities. “We hope universities in Indonesia and India can collaborate in various joint programs, particularly research in business and economics,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Indian Ambassador, affirmed that the cooperation reflects a long-term commitment to advancing higher education and improving human resource capacity in both countries.

The meeting also explored the potential establishment of a Master of Business Administration program in Indonesia through collaboration with IIM-Bangalore. The rector of IIM-Bangalore noted that the institution is a research-based business school, with potential cooperation focusing on strategic areas such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the development of modern business ecosystems.

Through this initiative, the Indonesian government hopes the partnership with India to not only strengthen higher education institutions, but also foster a more innovative, adaptive, and globally competitive learning ecosystem.
