Indonesia Opens 2026 TIAS Scholarship for Global Civil Servants

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has opened registration for the 2026 cycle of the Indonesian AID Scholarship (TIAS). The scholarship is targeting professionals and government officials from partner nations for advanced studies in Indonesia.

According to the TIAS official website, the program is a strategic initiative designed to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by offering fully-funded Diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees at the nation’s top universities and polytechnics. The registration process will end on April 17, 2026.

The grant offered for 2026 is designed to be comprehensive, covering all primary costs associated with international study. According to the TIAS official website, the scholarship includes full tuition fees, a monthly living and accommodation stipend, and round-trip international economy airfare.

Additional financial support is provided through a one-time settling-in allowance, health insurance, and coverage for visa and administrative fees. The program also funds a mandatory preparatory phase, which includes up to six months of Indonesian Language (BIPA) training and matriculation, alongside specific research grants for students working on their final thesis or dissertation.

Eligibility criteria for the new intake emphasize professional experience and regional partnership. According to the TIAS official website, the scholarship is open to citizens from over 60 priority countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Oceania, including nations such as Ethiopia, Vietnam, Pakistan, and Colombia.

Applicants should ideally have at least two years of work experience in the public sector and must meet specific age requirements. For a Bachelor's degree, there is a maximum of 25 years old. Other than that, a maximum 42 years old for Master’s and 47 years old for Doctoral candidates as of July 31, 2026.

Academic screening also requires a minimum English proficiency level, specifically a TOEFL ITP score of 477 for Master's programs or 530 for Doctoral tracks. The application window is set to close shortly, with a strict timeline governing the selection process.

The website also stated that all digital applications must be submitted by April 17, 2026, followed by an administrative review period that concludes in early May. The final list of successful candidates will be announced on June 30, 2026.

The expected arrival in Indonesia is scheduled for late August. Prospective students are instructed to coordinate with the nearest Indonesian Embassy to obtain an application account and secure the necessary government endorsements before applying through the official portal at tias.kemenkeu.go.id.
