RRI.CO.ID, Jember - The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education ensures the continuation of the Education Unit Revitalization program in 2026 with budget allocation secured in the state budget (APBN). The policy is focused on three main priorities: schools in severely damaged condition, schools in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost areas (3T), and schools in disaster-affected regions.

Based on a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Sunday, 22 February 2026, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu’ti, stated that the government has allocated approximately Rp14 trillion for the implementation of the program in 2026. Currently, the verification and validation process for eligible schools is underway.

"For the year 2026, there is already Rp14 trillion secured in the state budget for revitalization. Meanwhile, what we have allocated is currently in the verification and validation process, around 11,470 educational units," said the Minister of Education and Culture.

He emphasized that this policy is a form of the government's consistency in ensuring that every Indonesian child learns in a safe and suitable environment. Proper educational infrastructure is an important foundation for improving the quality of learning and ensuring equitable access to education.

Furthermore, the Minister of Education and Culture revealed that in accordance with the directive of the President of the Republic of Indonesia during the National Teacher's Day commemoration in 2025, the scope of revitalization in 2026 will be significantly expanded. The government targets an additional 60,000 educational units to be revitalized, bringing the total projected for 2026 to more than 71,000 educational units.

The directive, according to him, demonstrates the President's strong commitment to making education the top priority of national development. The President views education as the key to eradicating poverty.

Through the sustainability of this program, the Ministry of Education and Culture reaffirms its commitment to providing justice and equitable quality of educational infrastructure throughout Indonesia. With a safe, decent, and dignified learning environment, it is hoped that education will increasingly be able to become a way out of inequality and poverty, while also leading Indonesia toward sustainable progress.
