RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Bendungan Hilir -- better known as Benhil -- in Central Jakarta has long stood as one of the city’s legendary culinary hubs, drawing food enthusiasts eager to savor everything from traditional Indonesian snacks to hearty local meals.
Benhil’s reputation as a street food haven makes it a must-visit spot for locals and visitors alike. One of the most unique here is the tent stall called 'Serba 10 Ribu Benhil' (Flat Price 10k).
True to its name, every dish is sold at a flat price of IDR 10,000 (USD 0,58), making it a favorite among university students, boarding house residents, and office workers. The stall opens in the early hours, around 2:30 to 3:00 a.m. and serves until everything is sold out.

The menu is impressively diverse, ranging from Indonesian staples like fried rice, green chili squid, yellow rice, spicy smashed chicken, and satay taichan, to international options such as spaghetti, pasta, lasagna, sushi, takoyaki, and sandwiches.
Desserts like tiramisu, caramel pudding, donuts, and traditional market snacks are also available. To complete the experience, the stall also sells refreshing drinks, juices, infused water, and even salads, making it a one-stop culinary destination.
Easily spotted, right across Alfamart Benhil 98, the stall has quickly risen in popularity, fueled in part by social media buzz. Among its regulars is Citra, a boarding‑house resident nearby, who shared her experience.
“I often buy food there because it’s close to my place, so I can just walk. It’s cheap and very diverse. I first found out about it from TikTok. My favorite is the green chili squid. They serve it as a package with rice and fried tempe, but you can also order the squid as a side dish,” she said.

“I really enjoy the variety because it’s not only Indonesian food but also Western and Asian dishes. Everything is fresh and warm if you come early. For me, it’s the perfect place to grab something tasty without spending too much,” she added.
Benhil remains a culinary hub that attracts people of all ages, offering not only affordable meals but also a vibrant atmosphere that reflects Jakarta’s dynamic street food culture.
For many, it’s more than just a place to eat, it’s a community space where flavors from across Indonesia and beyond come together, making it one of the capital’s most beloved food destinations. ***
