KBRN, Melbourne: The Indonesian Culinary Association of Victoria (ICAV) in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Melbourne, held the Indonesian Street Food Festival (ISFF) 2025 again at Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne. ISFF 2025, which is also part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival 2025, was held for two days, on March 22-23, 2025 with the theme "Spice Up The World".

"Not only presenting the richness of Indonesian gastronomy, but also filled with Indonesian cultural performances that attract high enthusiasm from thousands of visitors, both local people and the Indonesian diaspora in Australia," according to official statement of the Indonesian Consulate General in Melbourne received in Jakarta, Tuesday (3/25/2025).

Even though it took place in the middle of the month of Ramadan, this did not dampen the enthusiasm to continue promoting the diversity of Indonesian cuisine and authentic flavors to the Australian people. The festival remained lively with the participation of Indonesian food vendors serving typical dishes such as satay, rendang, gado-gado, fried rice, to traditional snacks such as tempe mendoan and es cendol.

“Various Indonesian trade vendors participated, displaying various products and creations typical of the archipelago, ranging from Indonesian cooking spices, batik cloth, wooden cooking utensils, to handicraft products that reflect the beauty and uniqueness of Indonesian culture,” according to the statement.

Not only pampering visitors' tongues, this Festival also featured various Indonesian cultural performances that aroused the spirit and pride of the archipelago's heritage.

“Visitors were treated to various cultural performances, from stunning pencak silat attractions with agile and meaningful movements, regional dances from various corners of Indonesia such as Dances from West Sumatra, West Java, and Kalimantan that managed to captivate the audience's attention,” the statement read.

This year's ISFF was opened by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Australia and Vanuatu, Siswo Pramono, who was accompanied by the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Melbourne, Kuncoro Waseso.

The ISFF 2025 series was closed by the Indonesian Consul General in Melbourne on March 23, 2025. "I am very proud of ICAV for successfully organizing ISFF again this year. I also express my gratitude and appreciation to ICAV and all parties involved for their hard work and enthusiasm to continue promoting the richness of Indonesian cuisine and culture in Australia, especially in Victoria," he said.
