- Indonesia secured USD 113.88 million in potential transactions at CAEXPO 2026, spanning commodities, technology and industrial cooperation.
- Buyer demand from China continues to drive export opportunities, with several agreements awaiting follow-up and finalization.
RRI.CO.ID, Nanning - Indonesia's Pavilion recorded potential transactions worth up to USD 113.88 million at the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) 2026, held at the Nanning International Convention & Exhibition Center (NICEC) in Nanning, China, from Sept. 17 to 21, 2026.
The potential transactions stemmed from the signing of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and requests for Indonesian products.
Four MoUs signed during the event generated potential transactions worth USD 81.1 million. The agreements cover satellite cooperation, support for efficiency improvements in the oil, gas, electricity, and mining sectors, and cooperation involving shrimp crackers, coffee, AI-based product tokens, and processing machinery procurement.
In addition to the MoUs, demand for palm kernel shells and crude palm oil (CPO) generated potential transactions worth USD 22.79 million.
Other requests involved fish oil, fish-based food products, cocoa powder, vanilla, edible bird's nests, briquettes and instant chocolate powder drinks. These requests are valued at USD 9.99 million and are still being negotiated with 10 partner companies in China.
Trade Ministry National Export Development Director General Fajarini Puntodewi welcomed the achievement, saying Indonesia's performance at CAEXPO 2026 resulted from product promotion, business-matching sessions, business forums and industrial investment exploration.
"Indonesia's achievements at CAEXPO 2026 show that product promotion combined with business exploration sessions can create added value. These opportunities that have opened up need to be followed up to become transactions and long-term cooperation," Puntodewi said in Jakarta on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026.
During CAEXPO 2026, Indonesia took part in a range of business meetings, forums and field visits, including the Indonesia Sustainable Free Trade Zone and Industrial Park Forum, CABIS and a Group Meeting with Guangxi leaders.
Indonesia also visited a drone industrial zone and the Pinglu Canal Exhibition.
Indonesian pavilions across several exhibition areas attracted more than 98,000 visitors. The Indonesian Commodities Pavilion, located in Hall D5, covered more than 2,000 square meters and featured 51 companies.
Indonesia also participated in the City of Charm Pavilion in Hall B and the Artificial Intelligence Pavilion, which featured four Indonesian companies.
Trade Ministry Manufacturing Product Export Development Director Deden Muhammad Fajar Shidiq said Indonesia's participation aimed not only to promote national flagship products but also to build more concrete business relationships with potential partners.
"The success of Indonesia's participation in CAEXPO 2026 does not end with the achievements made during the exhibition. All potential transactions, buyer requests, and cooperation initiatives will continue to be followed up with business actors and relevant partners," Deden said.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Consul General in Guangzhou Arianto Surojo described CAEXPO as a strategic platform for expanding Indonesia's market access to China and the ASEAN region.
"This year's transaction results and various cooperation initiatives show that Indonesian products and companies' capabilities have increasingly greater opportunities to enter regional supply chains and markets," Arianto said. (Gusti Panji)
