The House Examines Challenges Facing Industrial Zones

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian House of Representatives’ Commission VII is examining various challenges faced by industrial zones and industry players as it deepens discussions on the Draft Law (RUU) on Industrial Zones. Deputy Speaker of Commission VII, Evita Nursanty, said real industry conditions are essential to drafting effective regulations.

“The Industrial Zones Law will not merely be a set of normative regulations, but will address the real issues faced by both zone managers and industrial operators as tenants,” said Evita, who also serves as Chair of the Working Committee’s Field Visit Team for the Industrial Zones Law, during a visit to the Lippo Cikarang Industrial Zone in Bekasi on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Evita said Commission VII has also received input on various norms that need to be regulated by law, including business certainty, investment, accountability, environmental sustainability, and the interests of local administrations within industrial zones.

In addition to the Industrial Zones Bill, Evita is overseeing the development of the national electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem and competitiveness. “The aim is to assess how far these developments can build national industrial capacity, increase the Domestic Component Level (TKDN), strengthen the domestic supply chain, and promote technology transfer,” she said.

Evita encouraged zone managers and industry players to communicate the issues they face directly. “These are the issues we will eventually discuss, and the solutions to these existing problems will be addressed in the bill,” she said. (Gusti Panji)
