RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesian Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Head Rosan Roeslani said the quality of investment services is key to strengthening Indonesia’s investment climate. Clear timelines and licensing procedures, he added, help reduce uncertainty for investors.

“Investment services are one of the keys to improving Indonesia’s overall investment climate,” Minister Rosan said at the 2026 Investment Service Awards (ALI) event in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

He emphasized that ALI 2026 is more than an award ceremony for investment service providers. It is also an opportunity to strengthen service governance to make it more measurable, structured, and reliable.

Certainty in service delivery--particularly timelines and licensing procedures--is an important aspect for investors, he said. Such certainty is needed to minimize risks when businesses carry out investment activities.

Minister Rosan also noted that improving investment services is directly linked to the creation of quality jobs for Indonesians, a need that continues to grow as the population increases.

“Every three years, we add a population equivalent to Singapore--around six million people. Job creation is a shared responsibility, and investment is one of the key drivers that enables effective job creation,” he stated.

ALI 2026 marks the culmination of the performance assessment series for One‑Stop Integrated Services (PTSP) and the Acceleration of Business Implementation (PPB), which began in April 2026 under Regulation of the Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM No. 2/2022.

The 2026 ALI assessment covers 571 entities at the central and regional levels, comprising 546 local administrations and 25 ministries or state agencies. The evaluation aims to assess their investment service performance.

The assessment process covers six aspects: institutional framework, human resources, facilities, infrastructure, and service processes. It also includes coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of investment service delivery.

Minister Rosan stressed that the results of the 2026 ALI assessment serve not only as a basis for granting awards but also as an instrument for evaluating and improving the quality of licensing services.

He said central government and regional administrations must strengthen collaboration to address obstacles that continue to affect business operations. The goal is to deliver investment services that are easy, fast, transparent, and high‑quality.

Improving service quality is expected to enhance business sector confidence and strengthen the national investment climate, while supporting job creation across the country. (Misni Parjiati)
