Global Gold Benchmark Prices Rise in Second Period of Sept 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Ministry of Trade has established the Export Benchmark Price (HPE) and Reference Price (HR) for gold commodities for the second period of September 2026, as cited from the ministry's written press release on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The gold HPE is set at US$144,469.49 per kilogram.

This price represents a 1.63 percent increase from the first period of September 2026, which was US$142,154.10 per kilogram. The gold HR also rose to US$4,493.51 per troy ounce (t oz) from US$4,421.49 per t oz.

This determination is stipulated in the "Minister of Trade Decree Number 1817 of 2026 Concerning Export Benchmark Prices and Reference Prices for Mining Products Subject to Export Duties." This decree is valid for the period of September 15–30, 2026.

Director General of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Trade, Tommy Andana, stated that global financial conditions triggered another increase in the gold HPE and HR for the second period of September 2026. The reasons range from the depreciation of major global currencies to international benchmark interest rate cuts.

"The increase in the gold HPE and HR for the second period of September 2026 is triggered by the depreciation of major global currencies, declining bond yields, and international benchmark interest rate cuts," Tommy said.

The gold HPE and HR are determined based on data and technical input from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). This process refers to publications by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA).

The determination was carried out through cross-ministerial and institutional coordination. It is also based on information, data, and input from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the Ministry of ESDM, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Industry.
