The scope of cooperation includes using PTPN Group’s landholdings for soybean cultivation. Both parties will also establish a center for seed development and soybean cultivation technology.
The collaboration further includes technology and knowledge transfer in soybean commodity development, support for high-yielding varieties, and funding.
President Director of PTPN III (Persero), Denaldy Mulino Mauna, said the partnership will be implemented in stages. “This program will be carried out gradually so that land readiness, crop productivity, business models, and sustainability can be objectively tested,” Denaldy said.
PTPN Group will leverage its experience and expertise in plantation management to support the program. The company’s assets will also be utilized to help develop the national soybean ecosystem.
The partnership has received support from the Special Envoy of the Indonesian President, Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo, who attended the event. Hashim said soybean development plays a strategic role in achieving food self-sufficiency.
“I would like to express my gratitude to PTPN. This is a very strategic partnership for the Indonesian nation,” Hashim said. (Gusti Panji)
