Govt to Implement AI‑Based System to Boost State Revenue

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa will improve the Indonesia National Single Window (INSW) system to increase state revenue potential. The upgrade focuses on strengthening the database system by developing an Artificial Intelligence (AI)‑based application to support data processing and analysis.

“We will develop an application that uses AI. This application will help our analysts identify potential revenue that could be generated through system improvements,” Minister Purbaya said after inspecting the National Single Window Agency (LNSW) office in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

He explained that LNSW operates the INSW system, which stores all data related to export and import permit applications. The volume of data is enormous, yet it has not been fully integrated, creating obstacles in the analysis process. Manual data processing, he said, makes it difficult for the government to obtain a comprehensive picture of economic and trade activities.

“Even with computer programs, analysis can be inadequate if the data is not well integrated. Therefore, the Ministry of Finance is working to develop an application that utilizes AI,” he emphasized.

The technology will help analysts process large volumes of data and identify potential state revenue sources that may have previously gone unnoticed.

Minister Purbaya noted that LNSW, as the manager of INSW, plays an important role in assisting the government with trade analysis and revenue forecasting. “Many people may be unfamiliar with LNSW, but it is quite powerful and supports our analysis,” he said.

Improvements to INSW’s systems and data are expected to detect potential tax and other revenue sources early, especially with the high accuracy of the AI‑based system. The system will also be further developed to estimate potential state revenue payments required from each company.

With this approach, Minister Purbaya added, the government will be able to monitor ongoing transactions and track past economic activities. “In the future, no one will be able to play dirty anymore. The government will use more integrated data to monitor corporate activities,” he said. (Gusti Panji)
