RRI.CO.ID, Gyeonggi – Thirteen Indonesian furniture and interior companies are showcasing their products at the Indonesia Pavilion at the Korea International Furniture and Interior Fair (KOFURN) 2026, held at KINTEX in Gyeonggi, South Korea, from August 27 to 30, 2026.

The participation is part of efforts by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Seoul, in cooperation with the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, to expand market access, strengthen the branding of Indonesian products, and open business opportunities with partners and buyers from South Korea.

Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea, Cecep Herawan, said Indonesia’s participation in KOFURN is part of its economic diplomacy efforts to encourage more value-added Indonesian products to enter the Korean market.

“Indonesia’s participation in KOFURN is part of a concrete economic diplomacy effort to bring more value-added national products into the Korean market,” Cecep said in a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul received in Jakarta on Friday, August 28, 2026.

He said Indonesia’s participation is not merely aimed at promoting products but also at building sustainable business relationships between Indonesian and South Korean industry players. The products on display include furniture and interior products for homes, offices, hotels, cafes, and pets.

The Indonesia Pavilion highlights the use of natural materials, craftsmanship, design, and sustainability. The products on display include those made from wood, rattan, teak, recycled teak, as well as combinations of wood and metal.

The 13 Indonesian companies, which were selected through a curation process conducted by the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul and the Ministry of Trade, are Aryasena, Bale Rattan, Bumi Karya Abimana, Chakra Naga Furniture, Genco Furniture, Herya Wood Furniture, HomLiv, Indorisakti, Javani Narutala Indonesia, Kibti Furniture, Macha Catalogue, Sabila Multi Kreasindo, and Surya Bangkit Cemerlang.

Interior products also make use of distinctive Indonesian materials, including water hyacinth, seagrass, banana leaves, mending grass, and capiz shells.

Opportunities for Indonesian furniture exports to South Korea are further strengthened through the implementation of the Indonesia–Korea Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IK-CEPA). Under the agreement, nearly all Indonesian furniture products have benefited from the elimination of import tariffs to zero percent.

Meanwhile, one tariff line for furniture and interior products made from refurbished wood materials remains subject to a five-percent import tariff.

In addition to the exhibition, the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, in cooperation with the Korea Federation of Furniture Industry Cooperatives (KFFIC), organized a business matching session to connect Indonesian companies with potential South Korean business partners.

The 13 Indonesian exhibitors were matched with 16 Korean companies, including BAOTT, Bridge Maker, Dqewun, Fine Group Holdings, Homehands, Itda, Jamie Collection, JH, John Service, Lotte Mart, MAP Company, Mylog, Urban Furnish, Unogagu, Senso, and Shinsegae Casa.

The business meetings are aimed at opening opportunities for exports, distribution, product procurement, joint design development, and long-term partnerships between the furniture industries of the two countries.

Cecep expressed hope that Indonesia’s participation in KOFURN 2026 would not only increase the visibility of Indonesian products but also generate business transactions and expand business networks between Indonesian and South Korean industry players.
