RRI.CO.ID, Bandung - The Indonesian Ministry of Trade, together with the West Java Provincial Administration, has launched the export of 10 metric tons of green coffee beans produced by Java Halu Coffee to the United Kingdom. The shipment is valued at USD 155,000.

The Ministry’s Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, said the export demonstrates the competitiveness of Indonesian coffee in the global market. The achievement also underscores the importance of collaboration among MSMEs, the central government, local administrations, and stakeholders within the export ecosystem.

“If MSMEs are provided with the right platforms and guidance, they can penetrate the global market,” Puntodewi said in Bandung, West Java, on Saturday, August 22, 2026. She hopes this success will inspire other coffee MSMEs in West Java and across Indonesia.

According to Puntodewi, the export shipment launch reflects collaboration between the central government and local administrations to develop export‑oriented MSMEs. The partnership between the Ministry and the West Java Provincial Administration is expected to encourage businesses to improve their quality and competitiveness.

Java Halu Coffee has expanded its exports to international markets since 2019, including the Middle East, Japan, Australia, South Korea, Turkey, the UK, and the United States.

The Ministry supports Java Halu Coffee’s market expansion through promotion and by facilitating access to international markets. In 2023, the company participated in the World of Coffee in Athens, Greece, and the International Coffee & Chocolate Exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“Java Halu Coffee’s track record on the international stage is quite clear,” Puntodewi said. “We also appreciate the company’s consistency in participating in Trade Expo Indonesia almost every year.”

Meanwhile, West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan said the potential and quality of West Java’s coffee have proven capable of penetrating international markets. “Therefore, we will continue to push for West Java’s flagship products to gain even greater acceptance in the global market,” he said.

Java Halu Coffee Director Rani Mayasari expressed appreciation for the support from various parties in developing the business and its export markets since 2019, including the Ministry, Bank Indonesia (BI), the West Java Provincial Administration, and the West Bandung Regency Administration.

“This is a tremendous moment for us because we can contribute to earning foreign exchange for the government and for West Java’s economy. The support and strategic collaboration from the central government and local administrations have made it possible for us to be where we are today,” Rani said. (Gusti Panji)
