RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia recorded processed food exports worth USD 6.25 billion in 2025, ranking fourth in the ASEAN region. It trails Thailand at USD 17.69 billion, Vietnam at USD 8.89 billion, and Singapore at USD 6.5 billion.

Vice Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, announced the achievement at the Indonesia Food and Beverage Trade Promotion Forum in Jakarta on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. The global food and beverage market itself has surpassed USD 512 billion, with an average annual growth rate of 7 percent.

She noted that there is still ample room for evaluation and expansion to enhance the competitiveness of domestic products in international markets. However, she added that micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) still face a number of challenges, ranging from meeting international quality standards to leveraging technology.

To address those challenges, the Vice Minister said the Ministry of Trade is committed to fostering the national export ecosystem holistically through support for product quality, streamlining bureaucracy, and expanding market access. The Ministry is also promoting strategic collaboration with all stakeholders to support the competitiveness of MSMEs.

“The success of Indonesia’s exports is determined not only by the size of its potential, but also by the courage to continue innovating, improving quality, and expanding cooperation. We hope that more and more Indonesian businesses will be ready to step into the global market and make Indonesian products the top choice for consumers worldwide,” she said.

The forum, organized in collaboration with the SIAL Network, was attended by representatives from associations, business owners, and speakers from various ministries and agencies. One exporter, Ahmad Hanifa from HNF Alam Sejahtera company, welcomed the event as a platform for networking and expanding his export market reach.

“Currently, we export to Greece, France, Germany, and Spain. Hopefully, by participating in this event, we can expand our market reach to other continents beyond Europe,” he said.
