RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) has published the 2025 Indonesia Islamic Finance Development Report (LPKSI), outlining the performance and future direction of the national sharia finance industry.

LPKSI 2025 carries the theme of strengthening competitiveness to support national economic growth. OJK noted that the industry continues to expand despite global economic uncertainty.

Chair of OJK's Boards of Commissioners, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, said Islamic finance in Indonesia is showing consistent progress, not only in asset growth but also in quality and competitiveness.

“The national sharia finance industry is moving in a better direction, improving both quantitatively and qualitatively,” she stated in Jakarta on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

She emphasized the importance of maintaining this momentum to ensure financial sector stability amid global challenges.

OJK recorded total Islamic finance assets of IDR 3,131.02 trillion (USD 174.79 billion) in 2025, an 8.56 percent increase from the previous year. Sharia banking assets reached IDR 1,067.73 trillion (up 8.92 percent), while sharia capital market assets stood at IDR 1,875.25 trillion (up 8.18 percent).

In the non‑bank financial sector, PPDP assets totaled IDR 74.27 trillion, and PVML assets IDR 124.51 trillion.

Banking Supervision Executive Dian Ediana Rae added that OJK is strengthening Islamic finance through regulations, sectoral roadmaps, and strategic policies.

“The Sharia Finance Development Committee has served as a coordination forum among stakeholders since 2025, aiming to enhance competitiveness and stability,” he explained.

OJK expects LPKSI to serve as a reference for regulators, industry players, academics, investors, and the public, while supporting the growth of an inclusive and sustainable Islamic finance ecosystem. (Gusti Panji)
