RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Foreign investors returned to Indonesia’s stock market in July 2026, recording net purchases worth IDR 1.62 trillion as market sentiment improved, according to the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
OJK’s Chief Executive for Capital Market, Derivatives, and Carbon Exchange Supervision, Hasan Fawzi, said selling pressure from foreign investors has eased, helping strengthen the domestic market.
“Foreign sell‑offs have begun to subside. In July 2026, net foreign buying reached IDR 1.62 trillion (approximately USD 90.35 million),” he noted during OJK’s monthly board meeting on August 4 in Jakarta.
The inflow of foreign funds lifted the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), which closed at 6,236.13 at the end of July-up 10.51 percent from the previous month. Hasan attributed the rally to improving sentiment both domestically and globally, alongside stronger trading liquidity. The average bid‑ask spread narrowed to 1.33 percent from 1.75 percent in June.

The investment management industry also showed positive performance. Mutual fund net asset value (NAV) reached USD 663.26 trillion as of July 30, rising 1.59 percent from June. Net subscriptions totaled IDR 3.43 trillion in July, bringing cumulative inflows since January to IDR 1.29 trillion.
Investor participation continued to expand, with total capital market investors reaching 30.06 million Single Investor Identification (SID) accounts by the end of July-an increase of 1.1 million in a single month.
Capital raising activity remained robust, with IDR 121.96 trillion raised through the market by July’s end. OJK reported 15 offerings in the pipeline, including three upcoming initial public offerings (IPOs). “This shows companies remain highly interested in raising funds through the capital market,” Hasan said.
