RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Vice Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti, met with the Director General for the Americas and Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Grata Werdaningtyas in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. According to an official statement, the meeting reinforced Indonesia’s strategy to expand its international trade and investment reach into Latin America and the Caribbean.

Both ministries are focusing on maximizing existing trade agreements to unlock broader access to global markets. This collaborative economic diplomacy aims to help local businesses increase national export volumes.

A major focus of the discussion was the preparation for the upcoming Indonesia–Latin America and the Caribbean (INA-LAC) Business Forum. The forum serves as a vital platform for connecting Indonesian entrepreneurs with business partners across the region.

Grata noted that the INA-LAC Business Forum has been held consistently since 2019. This forum has become Indonesia’s premier business forum with Latin American and Caribbean countries.

The Ministry of Trade reaffirmed its full commitment to ensuring the success of this annual event in order to strengthen cross-continental economic partnerships. This initiative is a key part of efforts to penetrate new markets beyond Indonesia’s traditional partners.

Vice Minister of Trade Roro stated, “The Ministry of Trade fully supports the INA-LAC Business Forum as a strategic tool to expand Indonesia’s export market access while strengthening economic partnerships with Latin American countries.”

During the meeting, the Vice Minister was accompanied by Basaria Tiara, Director of Bilateral Negotiations, and Bayu Nugroho, Director of Market Development and Export Information. Their presence aimed to ensure the technical readiness of all foreign trade cooperation initiatives.
