RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian Investment Management Agency (Danantara) will begin participating in the decision-making process of the Financial Sector Stability Committee. Danantara’s involvement is a direct directive from President Prabowo Subianto, issued during a limited meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
President Prabowo summoned all members of the Financial Sector Stability Committee and Danantara following the resignation of the central bank's governor, Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo. This was followed by a limited meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday, July 27, 2026.
In a press statement after the meeting, Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani announced that Danantara would be involved in the committee's decision-making. This move is intended to broaden policy coordination in the financial sector, ensuring it does not focus solely on fiscal and monetary aspects.
He stated, “The Financial Sector Stability Committee has also been asked to involve Danantara in every decision it makes, so that its decisions have a direct impact on the economy and businesses, not just from a fiscal and monetary perspective, but across the entire ecosystem.”
He noted that Danantara will participate in the government economic team’s regular meetings going forward. Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Bank Indonesia, Destry Damayanti, stated that the President has called for strengthened coordination and inter-agency cooperation within the committee alongside Danantara, particularly regarding policy alignment.
“Earlier, we also discussed the President’s directives regarding us, the Financial Sector Stability Committee members who were invited alongside Danantara. So, the main point is that in the future, we must continue to enhance coordination and cooperation, particularly regarding policies, as each agency has policies that need to be aligned,” she said.
Furthermore, she said President Prabowo asked each Financial Sector Stability Committee member to support one another and back the government in line with the policy direction set by the executive branch.
For additional information, the Financial Sector Stability Committee is a four-member committee consisting of the Minister of Finance as coordinator, the Governor of Bank Indonesia, the Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority, and the Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Deposit Insurance Corporation. This committee was established with the primary objective of maintaining the stability of Indonesia’s financial system.
