RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) is expected to continue weakening during trading on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Monday, July 27, 2026. At the close of trading last weekend, the JCI fell sharply by 1.88 percent to 6,196.

“Today, the JCI still has the potential to weaken as it tests the 6,000–6,100 range. This decline is driven by several negative factors, including the escalating US–Iran conflict, rising oil prices, and additional tariffs imposed by the US,” the Phintraco Sekuritas Analyst Team stated in Jakarta on Monday.

Market sentiment will remain influenced by developments in the Middle East conflict and the new US import tariffs. “However, just a few hours after the tariffs took effect, the US government had already faced lawsuits from two small businesses,” the Phintraco team noted.

Investors are also watching the US Federal Reserve meeting and the latest US economic data, including second‑quarter 2026 GDP figures and the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index.

Domestically, investors are monitoring listed companies’ second‑quarter financial reports and corporate actions, alongside geopolitical developments and global economic data.

Meanwhile, Indonesian State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi announced the resignation of Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo on Monday morning. The resignation was submitted for personal reasons.

“We will follow up on the resignation letter administratively today. In accordance with established procedures, a presidential decree will be issued regarding his honorable dismissal,” Minister Prasetyo said.

He explained that the position of BI Governor will automatically be assumed by the Senior Deputy Governor, as stipulated by the Law on BI. “According to the relevant records, the Senior Deputy Governor is Destry Damayanti,” he added. (Gusti Panji)
