RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Trade Ministry reported that business matching events facilitated by the Trade Attaché in Seoul have resulted in exports of Indonesia’s flagship products and opened new business opportunities. A total of 59 business matching events were held in the first half of 2026.
Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, said business matching is a key instrument for expanding Indonesia’s export market access.
“Through Indonesia’s trade representatives, business operators are assisted in meeting potential buyers, from the negotiation process through to the completion of transactions,” she said in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
The ministry continues to expand Indonesia’s export markets globally, including South Korea. Of the 59 business matching events, 12 were held online and 47 in person.
The in‑person events coincided with ASEAN Panorama on May 28–29, 2026, and resulted in the export of several Indonesian products to South Korea.
For example, CV Hortindo Agrokencana Farm exported crispy sweet potato sticks to Family International Co., Ltd., worth USD 25,790. PT Indo Risakti exported furniture products to Dear Rounder Studio worth USD 6,512.
Trade Attaché in Seoul Roesfitawati said South Korean businesses’ interest in Indonesian products continues to grow. “In addition to resulting in actual exports, several business matchings we facilitated have also entered the follow‑up negotiation stage,” she said.
One such opportunity involves wood‑based products. South Korean company DSP Co., Ltd. is awaiting samples of wood powder and wood pellets as a follow‑up to business matching.
Roesfitawati also facilitated business matching in the fisheries sector after Samsung Welstory expressed interest in frozen braided shrimp and frozen squid. Meanwhile, Yujin Co., Ltd. is exploring a partnership with SME PT Pareto Estu Guna to procure various types of Indonesian potato chips.
She noted that as importers begin to explore new Indonesian products, South Korean consumers’ confidence in Indonesian goods continues to grow. “We will continue to leverage this momentum to drive export diversification and expand market opportunities for Indonesian businesses,” she said.
Meanwhile, CV Hortindo Agrokencana Farm representative Ahmad Hadi R. said ministry assistance helped the company secure customers and receive orders. “We look forward to continued support in participating in food exhibitions in South Korea so that we can reach even more market opportunities,” he said.
