RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) has confirmed that the national banking sector’s liquidity remains stable, underpinning the industry’s intermediation function and supporting economic growth.
OJK Board of Commissioners Chair, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, said liquidity performance is supported by continued strong credit growth. “Bank credit grew by 11.5 percent, reaching approximately IDR 8,600 trillion (around USD 480.37 billion),” she stated at the House of Representatives building in Jakarta on Monday, July 20, 2026.
Friderica added that the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio remains manageable, currently standing at 2.17 percent.
According to her, these results show that the national banking industry remains in a healthy condition. “We are also promoting programs we have outlined, such as market deepening and support for MSMEs,” she said.
However, Friderica acknowledged that challenges remain, particularly in improving access to financing for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
She noted that SME financing was also a key focus during a joint meeting with the House of Representatives’ Commission XI. OJK will continue to promote more inclusive credit growth for this sector. (Gusti Panji)
