RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Trade, through the Directorate General of National Export Development, organized a Regional Export Development Coordination Forum for Kalimantan, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara. The forum aimed to align national export development programs with the potential and needs of each region.
Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, said the government and business actors must work together to formulate effective export policies.
“The coordination forum serves as a space for dialogue to listen, exchange information, and devise joint steps to boost exports from the regions,” Puntodewi said in Jakarta on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
She emphasized that export development can no longer rely on a one‑size‑fits‑all approach across Indonesia’s diverse regions. In her view, strategies must be tailored to regional economic characteristics, commodity potential, business readiness, and local challenges.
“Each region has distinct economic characteristics, flagship commodities, levels of business readiness, and challenges. A region‑based approach is increasingly important so that government programs can accommodate export needs across all regions in Indonesia,” Puntodewi said.
At the forum, officials from the Directorate General of National Export Development presented integrated services to support exporters. These included market information, capacity building, product development, business prospecting, international trade promotion, and access to global markets.
Local administrations and business operators also highlighted challenges in export activities, ranging from improving product quality and meeting international standards to promoting products, accessing buyers, and mentoring new exporters.
Head of the Trade Division at the East Kalimantan Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs, Ali Wardana, proposed a study on direct exports. He said that activating ports could help open direct export routes from East Kalimantan.
Director of PT Goldlif Reformasi Jaya, Febrianus Dake, welcomed the forum. “We hope the input provided can serve as a basis for evaluation. In addition, there should be concrete solutions that directly benefit business operators facing difficulties in exporting,” he said. (Gusti Panji)
