RRI.CO.ID, Seoul - Indonesia recorded potential export transactions worth USD 1.92 million at the Korea Import Expo (KIE) 2026 in Seoul.

The achievement was the result of collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul and the Trade Ministry, through the Trade Attaché in Seoul, who promoted Indonesian processed food products.

Deputy Ambassador to South Korea, Ali Andika Wardhana, said Indonesia’s participation in KIE 2026 strengthened the promotion of value-added products. He noted that the event also opened opportunities for cooperation between Indonesian and South Korean businesses and enhanced product competitiveness.

“Through this participation, Indonesia not only promoted national flagship products but also expanded trade cooperation. We hope this will further boost the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the South Korean market,” Ali said on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Trade Attaché in Seoul, Roesfitawati, said the results at KIE 2026 showed growing opportunities for Indonesian processed food products in South Korea. She added that the Trade Attaché’s Office facilitated 35 business-matching sessions for Indonesian exhibitors.

“The sessions demonstrated strong interest from local buyers in Indonesian products. This serves as an incentive for Indonesian businesses to continue improving product quality, innovation, and sustainability,” Roesfitawati said.

At KIE 2026, Indonesia showcased 15 leading MSMEs curated by the Directorate General of National Export Development. Exhibited products included specialty coffee, cocoa, potato chips, and other processed food items.

General Manager of PT Pareto Estu Guna, Mochamad Pujiono, said participation in KIE 2026 had a positive impact on promoting potato chips. He expressed appreciation for the Seoul Trade Attaché’s support in facilitating business discussions with potential buyers.

“Our products received an enthusiastic response from visitors. We also joined seven business exploration sessions with potential transactions totaling around USD 260,000,” Pujiono said.

President Director of YUJIN FNB Co., Ltd., Seo Byeong Oh, said KIE 2026 was effective in strengthening cooperation with Indonesian exporters. He noted that Indonesia has been an important supplier partner for his company since 2012.

“Through these sessions, we discussed product specifications, production capacity, import requirements, and opportunities for product development tailored to the Korean market,” Oh said. (Gusti Panji)
