RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Jakarta IP Market (JIPM) 2026 is returning to reinforce its role as a business marketplace that helps Indonesian intellectual property (IP) enter global markets. The event brings together IP owners, brands, manufacturers, investors, and creative industry players within a single ecosystem.

JIPM 2026 will be held on July 29–30 at the Fairmont Jakarta, following its inaugural edition last year. This year, organizers have transformed the exhibition into a business-to-business (B2B) platform focused on collaboration and concrete business opportunities.

The inaugural event in 2025 emphasized raising awareness of Indonesia’s IP ecosystem. In 2026, JIPM will introduce new initiatives to accelerate the commercialization of local IP through strategic collaborations.

JIPM 2026 Chairman Mochtar Sarman said many Indonesian IP assets are of high quality and have strong development potential, but still face challenges in accessing suitable business partners.

“As a result, many works remain merely as content when they could be developed into products, licenses, franchises, and even cross-industry collaborations. The Jakarta IP Market is here to bridge this gap by bringing together all industry players in a structured business marketplace,” he said in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

JIPM 2026 is built on four pillars: Exhibition, Conference, Networking, and the Licensing Deal Room. The Licensing Deal Room serves as an exclusive negotiation space, facilitated by business matching, to accelerate the signing of MoUs and the establishment of partnerships.

The success of the inaugural event in 2025 provides optimism for this year’s edition. Over two days, JIPM featured more than 100 IPs, participants from nine countries, 305 business meetings, 138 business leads, and business potential exceeding IDR 33.4 billion.

“That is why we are developing the Jakarta IP Market not merely as an annual event, but as a marketplace that connects creativity with commercial opportunities. The hope is that more Indonesian IPs will grow into regional and global brands,” Mochtar said.

Looking ahead, JIPM aims to serve as a bridge linking Indonesia’s creative industries with markets in Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and China. By strengthening the licensing ecosystem and business matching, JIPM seeks to position Indonesia as a hub for IP business growth in Asia. (Gusti Panji)
