RRI.CO.ID, Russia - Six Indonesian specialty manufacturing products are set to attract buyers, distributors, and investors from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) at INNOPROM 2026, taking place from July 6–9 in Yekaterinburg, Russia. As the event's Official Partner Country, Indonesia is showcasing a range of flagship products in the Specialty Manufacturing & Consumer Goods pavilion, including batik and batik-making technology, geospatial surveying services, drones, specialty coffee, home décor, and fashion and textiles.

"Indonesian manufactured products are competitive not only in terms of quality and innovation but also because they offer added value rooted in creativity, sustainability, and strong cultural identity. Through INNOPROM 2026, we aim to create more opportunities for industrial cooperation, trade, and investment with international partners," Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said on July 8.

According to the minister, Indonesia's participation in INNOPROM 2026 is a strategic move to expand market access while strengthening the country's manufacturing presence in the Eurasian region.

The Eurasian market has become an increasingly promising export destination for Indonesian manufacturers. Changes in Russia's market dynamics in recent years have created broader opportunities for high-quality products from partner countries. These prospects have been further enhanced by the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (I-EAEU FTA), which provides preferential tariffs for a wide range of Indonesian products, including textiles, furniture, and handicrafts.

Director General of Small, Medium, and Miscellaneous Industries at the Ministry of Industry, Reni Yanita, said Indonesian manufacturers should capitalize on these opportunities. "Indonesia's specialty manufacturing products possess unique advantages that are difficult to replicate, combining strong cultural identity, craftsmanship passed down through generations, and production capabilities that continue to evolve to meet global standards. INNOPROM 2026 provides an excellent opportunity to showcase these strengths while building sustainable business partnerships across Eurasia," she said.

One sector with particularly strong potential is furniture and handicrafts. Russia's household furniture market was valued at approximately US$12.8 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow by an average of 5.4 percent annually through 2032. The growth is driven by increasing demand for premium products, personalized designs, and environmentally friendly materials—areas where Indonesian furniture and handicraft manufacturers have established competitive strengths.

The growing market potential aligns with the improving competitiveness of Indonesia's manufacturing sector. According to data from the Directorate General of Small, Medium, and Miscellaneous Industries, Indonesian handicraft exports reached US$806.63 million in 2025, up 15.46 percent from the previous year. During the first quarter of 2026, handicraft exports totaled US$165.27 million, an increase of 4.08 percent year-on-year.

Reni added that Indonesia's furniture industry also holds significant export potential. Based on Trade Map data (HS 9401–9403), furniture exports reached US$1.84 billion in 2025. The United States remained the largest export destination, accounting for 53.3 percent of total furniture exports.

During the first quarter of 2026, furniture exports stood at US$458.56 million, down 12.1 percent from the same period in 2025, although the United States continued to dominate with a 54.97 percent market share.

To seize these opportunities, Indonesia is featuring six companies representing high-potential specialty manufacturing subsectors.

The participating companies demonstrate Indonesia's ability to combine innovation, technology, and cultural heritage into value-added products. They include CV Batik Teknologi Indonesia, showcasing batik and batik-making machines; PT Techno GIS Indonesia, offering geospatial surveying services; PT Karya Solusi Angkasa, presenting drone technology; PT Nestra Kottama Indonesia, featuring specialty coffee; PT Khadija Kriya Abadi, displaying home décor products; and Apikmen Tandangawe Sempurno, exhibiting fashion and textile products.

Reni said the participation of these companies is part of the government's strategy to expand market access for high-value Indonesian manufacturing products in non-traditional markets.

"The implementation of the I-EAEU FTA should become a tangible opportunity for Indonesian manufacturers to broaden their business networks, increase exports, and establish mutually beneficial industrial partnerships. We hope Indonesia's participation in INNOPROM 2026 will lead to long-term collaboration with partners across Eurasia," she said.

Indonesia's participation in INNOPROM 2026 also marks the first step toward maximizing the implementation of the I-EAEU FTA, signed on December 21, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Russia. Covering approximately 90.5 percent of tariff lines traded between the two sides, the agreement is expected to accelerate Indonesian manufactured exports to Eurasia while strengthening industrial, trade, and investment cooperation.
