RRI.CO.ID, Russia - Opportunities for industrial partnerships between Indonesia, Russia, and the Eurasian region are expanding as bilateral industrial ties continue to strengthen. Through its participation as the Official Partner Country at INNOPROM 2026, Indonesia aims to help domestic manufacturers expand market access, attract investment, develop joint manufacturing projects, and facilitate technology transfer with partners across Eurasia.

"Indonesia's participation in INNOPROM 2026 is a strategic step to strengthen the competitiveness of our manufacturing sector in the global market while expanding international partnerships that can generate investment, industrial development, and greater manufacturing competitiveness," Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said in Russia on Saturday, July 5, 2026.

The commitment is already taking shape through a series of strategic events ahead of the exhibition's opening in Yekaterinburg, Russia. One of the key events was the joint press conference titled "Indonesia and Russia: Building Industrial Partnership at INNOPROM 2026," which showcased Indonesia's industrial potential to Russian businesses and explored new cooperation opportunities.

Director General for Industrial Resilience, Regional Development, and International Industrial Access at the Ministry of Industry, Tri Supondy, said Indonesia is seeking tangible industrial partnerships through its participation in INNOPROM 2026.

"We are using INNOPROM 2026 to connect Indonesian industries with the right partners in Russia and Eurasia. Our focus goes beyond expanding trade—we also aim to promote industrial investment, joint manufacturing, and technology transfer that will strengthen Indonesia's industrial competitiveness," Tri said during the joint press conference in Yekaterinburg.

Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Alexei Gruzdev, said Indonesia is Southeast Asia's largest industrial economy and one of Russia's key international industrial partners.

"Indonesia becoming the first Southeast Asian country to serve as the Official Partner Country at INNOPROM 2026 reflects the growing importance of our bilateral relationship," he said.

Support for stronger Indonesia–Russia industrial cooperation also came from the host region. Denis Pasler, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, said the province—home to INNOPROM and one of Russia's major industrial hubs—welcomes Indonesia's participation.

"We hope the meetings held during INNOPROM will mark the beginning of broader cooperation between Indonesian industries and companies in our region, including investment, joint manufacturing projects, and technology development," Pasler said.

To maximize business opportunities, Indonesia has brought 50 co-exhibitors and institutions representing sectors ranging from agro-industry, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, specialized manufacturing and consumer goods, advanced manufacturing and engineering, to industrial estates and investment promotion.

The delegates will participate in business matching sessions, business forums, bilateral meetings, and sectoral discussions designed to accelerate business partnerships, investment, and joint manufacturing initiatives.

Indonesia has also established a 1,512-square-meter Indonesia Pavilion, serving as a showcase of the country's industrial capabilities and a meeting place for businesses, investors, trade associations, and policymakers from around the world. The pavilion highlights Indonesian products, technologies, and investment opportunities for potential partners from the Eurasian region.

Anton Atrashkin, Business Program Director of Formika Event and organizer of INNOPROM, said Indonesia's participation as the Official Partner Country is one of the exhibition's main highlights.

According to him, Indonesia's presence reflects the strengthening economic relationship between Indonesia and Russia while creating new opportunities for mutually beneficial industrial collaboration.

As Eurasia's largest international industrial exhibition, INNOPROM attracts more than 48,000 visitors from around 60 countries, making it a strategic platform for Indonesia to expand industrial partnerships, attract investment, and increase market access for Indonesian manufactured products.

Tri emphasized that the real success of Indonesia's participation will depend on concrete follow-up after the exhibition. "The success of Indonesia's participation in INNOPROM should not be measured solely by the number of meetings or agreements reached during the exhibition, but by the concrete outcomes that follow. We want to see more industrial investment, joint production projects, technology transfer, and manufacturing cooperation that create added value for both Indonesia and Russia," he said.
