RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, revealed that price negotiations for Indonesia’s electricity exports to Singapore are still ongoing. He made the statement following the Leaders’ Retreat between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, Monday, July 6, 2026.
Minister Bahlil said, “Well, related to electricity exports to Singapore, the process is moving forward. But we’re still negotiating the price.”
Although a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been agreed upon, Indonesia continues to prioritize fair economic value. Bahlil noted that a final agreement will only be reached if the export price provides balanced benefits for both countries.
“And under our regulations, pricing is determined by our government. We want a win-win situation, that’s mutually beneficial. Cooperation must be mutually beneficial. So, since it’s mutually beneficial, we just need to reach that point. Once discussions are underway… but I think we’ll find common ground soon,” he said.

Previously, Prime Minister Wong stated that Indonesia and Singapore are currently collaborating on the construction of Indonesia’s largest solar power project in Morowali, Central Sulawesi. This collaboration was further strengthened by the signing of the MoU between Danantara and several Singaporean energy companies.
“Today, we have also signed MOUs between Danantara and Keppel Electric, Sembcorp Industries, and the Singapore Energy Interconnections (SGEI), and this will provide a clear roadmap for negotiations and discussions between the parties paving the way for our cross-border electricity project,” Wong said in a joint press statement.
The annual meeting between the two leaders resulted in a total of 26 strategic partnerships across various sectors. The agreements span a range of areas, including the economy, investment, defense, energy, the environment, digital transformation, and human resource development.
