RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) recorded 24 all-time highs (ATH) in 2025. In addition to briefly reaching 8,711, the market capitalization also set a record of IDR 16.004 quadrillion (approximately USD 895.20 billion) on December 8, 2025.
“Throughout 2025, the average daily trading value (RNTH) for stocks reached IDR 18.1 trillion. Meanwhile, trading in non-equity products was recorded at IDR 7.6 trillion,” said Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) President Director Jeffrey Hendrik in Jakarta on Monday, June 29, 2026.
The bond market, through the Alternative Market Operator System (SPPA), posted a total transaction volume of IDR 1.375 quadrillion. Trading value on the Carbon Exchange (IDXCarbon) stood at IDR 36.37 billion.
In terms of fundraising, the IDX reported that 26 companies conducted Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), with total market capitalization reaching IDR 155.2 trillion.
Funds raised through IPOs amounted to IDR 18.1 trillion, a 26 percent increase compared to the previous year. “The largest contributions came from the basic materials and infrastructure sectors,” Jeffrey said.
Beyond IPOs, funds raised through Debt and Islamic Bonds Securities (EBUS) reached IDR 217.4 trillion, while rights issues (Hak Memesan Efek Terlebih Dahulu/HMETD) and warrants contributed IDR 43.7 trillion. “These achievements further strengthen the capital market’s role as a comprehensive source of financing,” he added.
Jeffrey noted that the IDX is also actively pursuing education and digitalization initiatives. Throughout 2025, the exchange organized more than 49,000 educational activities. The number of Investment Galleries increased to 1,015 locations nationwide, while IDX Mobile users rose to 463,000.
These measures helped drive the number of investors to 20.3 million -- a 37 percent increase from the previous year.
However, the IDX temporarily halted trading in the first half of 2025 as the JCI came under pressure from external factors, plunging to 5,996. Together with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the IDX communicated with market participants and introduced several measures to stabilize conditions.
These included adjusting the policy on share buybacks without requiring approval from a General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS), revising the Lower Auto-Rejection (ARB) threshold, and refining trading halt regulations. “The goal is to maintain market stability and curb excessive volatility,” said Jeffrey.
