RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s creative economy is being steered toward a greener and more sustainable future, with technology seen as key to building a business ecosystem that is both productive and eco‑friendly.

This commitment was highlighted during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar and Indonesian climate‑tech company Jejakin at the ministry’s office in Jakarta on Monday, June 22, 2026. The meeting was part of government efforts to strengthen the creative economy through sustainability and green‑economy principles.

“Several programs introduced by Jejakin are very helpful in monitoring emission activities. This can foster sustainability and contribute to a green economy,” Irene said in Jakarta, as quoted on the ministry’s official website on Tuesday, June 23.

According to Irene, technology for monitoring emissions and environmental impacts can help creative industry players manage their businesses more responsibly. This step is considered crucial to ensuring that the sector’s growth remains aligned with the Sustainable Development Agenda.

Jejakin is a technology‑based company that provides solutions for measuring, monitoring, and managing carbon footprints. Its innovations open opportunities for creative‑economy players to adopt more eco‑friendly business practices while enhancing competitiveness.

Jejakin’s Head of Business Development, Bogar Baskoro, said the company has been actively developing sustainability initiatives related to event organization and campaign programs over the past few years.

“Over the past few years, we’ve been working extensively in the area of sustainability, and one of the key areas we’ve focused on involves numerous initiatives related to events and campaign programs,” Bogar explained.

He added that the Jejakin platform can calculate emissions against specific baselines and link them to reforestation programs across Indonesia. Through collaborations with partners from Sabang to Merauke, the company strives to create a positive environmental impact while promoting sustainable economic growth.

The meeting was also attended by Jejakin's Chief Growth Officer, Sudono Salim, and Government Relations representative, Junio Anada. Deputy Minister Irene was accompanied by the Director of Strategic Studies and Management, Agus Syarip Hidayat. ***
