RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) is projected to continue weakening during trading on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

The projection is influenced by movements in global stock indices and market sentiment ahead of the release of the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) report.

On Monday, the JCI closed down 0.98 percent, or 60.45 points, at 6,116.69. The decline was accompanied by net foreign selling worth IDR 1.11 trillion (approximately USD 61.6 million).

The stocks most heavily sold by foreign investors were BBRI, TPIA, BBNI, TLKM, and BMRI. “The JCI has the potential to continue its limited decline in the 6,080–6,065 support zone,” said Head of Retail Research at BNI Sekuritas, Fanny Suherman, in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to Fanny, US stock markets plunged at the close of trading on Monday, June 22, following a massive sell-off in large-cap technology stocks.

Asian stock markets closed mixed, influenced by developments in peace negotiations between the US and Iran in Switzerland. The Iranian delegation walked out after US President Donald Trump once again threatened Tehran.

Meanwhile, the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) kept its benchmark lending rates unchanged, in line with expectations. The one-year LPR was maintained at 3 percent, while the five-year LPR remained at 3.5 percent.

Domestically, market participants are largely waiting for the release of MSCI’s Annual Market Classification Review, scheduled for Wednesday, June 24.

“This will determine whether Indonesia’s capital market remains classified as an emerging market,” said the Phintraco Sekuritas Analyst Team. The market is also awaiting the results of Standard & Poor’s (S&P) Global Standards’ review of Indonesia’s capital market rating. (Gusti Panji)
