RRI.CO.ID, Sydney - Eight Indonesian companies recorded potential transactions worth USD 3.5 million at the Global Sourcing Expo (GSE) Sydney 2026, held from June 16–18 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Sydney, Australia.

The achievement was made through their participation in the Indonesian Pavilion, facilitated by the Indonesian Trade Attaché in Canberra, as part of efforts to expand the penetration of national products in the Australian market.

Participating companies included PT Gradial Perdana Perkasa, Linda Chandra Art Shoes, Pakis Jaya Garmindo (Batik Hadinata), Faz Uniforms, Nicole’s Natural, Zemed.id, Two Baskets, and Adiwinoto Ecoprint Boutique. They showcased a wide range of products, from garments, fashion, batik, footwear, and uniforms to handicrafts and home décor.

The Indonesian Trade Attaché in Canberra, Agung Haris Setiawan, said Australia is a promising market for Indonesian products. “The GSE is one of the largest and most important sourcing exhibitions in Australia. Indonesia’s presence provides a strategic opportunity to introduce the quality and diversity of Indonesian products to international buyers, while expanding market access for exporters,” Haris said, as quoted on the Ministry of Trade’s official website on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

Indonesia participated with a 75‑square‑meter pavilion and a dedicated booth to promote Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026. The pavilion was opened by Haris together with Vibiadhi Swasti Pradana, President Director of PT Debindomulti Adhiswasti, while Indonesian Ambassador to Australia and Vanuatu, Siswo Pramono, also attended to show support.

Haris noted that Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data shows strong demand for textiles, clothing, and footwear. Australia’s import value for this product group reached AUD 1.768 billion in April 2026, while retail sales in clothing, footwear, and personal accessories totaled AUD 3.18 billion in June 2025, a 1.5 percent increase from the previous month.

“This data shows that Australia is a relevant and potential market for Indonesian garments, fashion, footwear, accessories, textiles, and lifestyle products,” Haris said.

One exhibitor that drew attention was Zemed.id, an Indonesian children’s clothing brand exploring exports to Australia. The company was represented by Oriza Utami, an MBA student at the University of Sydney. “Participating in GSE Sydney 2026 was a very valuable experience for us, allowing us to directly understand the needs of Australian buyers, build business networks, and test the potential of Indonesian products in the international market,” Oriza said.

Indonesia’s presence also served to promote TEI 2026, scheduled for October 14–18 in Jakarta. The TEI booth attracted 30 potential Australian buyers interested in attending Indonesia’s largest trade show.

The Global Sourcing Expo is one of Australia’s largest sourcing exhibitions, bringing together buyers, retailers, importers, distributors, and industry players with suppliers from around the world.

This year, more than 600 exhibitors participated, including those from Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Taiwan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. ***
