RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia has strengthened its export presence in the Middle East with the shipment of IDR 2.5 billion worth of herbal health products to Saudi Arabia, facilitated by the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) and the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in Jeddah.

The agreement was formalized in a letter of agreement (LoA) between PT Dami Sariwana, a company under the guidance of Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, and Saudi firm Al Itholah Trading.

Consul General Yusron Ambary explained that the deal covers the first shipment of one container of herbal products, including men’s vitality supplements, blood sugar control aids, and slimming products.

“The LoA includes the initial delivery of one container of Indonesian herbal products valued at IDR 2.5 billion,” Yusron said on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

The signing took place on June 15 at the Indonesian Embassy in Jeddah in a hybrid format, linking representatives in Jeddah with partners in Semarang, Central Java, via teleconference. KJRI Jeddah’s Economic Function Coordinator praised the milestone, noting that Indonesian herbal products had successfully entered the Saudi market.

As part of risk mitigation, KJRI and ITPC Jeddah conducted field verification of Al Itholah Trading to ensure the importer’s credibility and readiness. Yusron emphasized that such measures were essential to safeguard international trade cooperation.

The consulate expressed hope that this export will open wider opportunities for Indonesian herbal products, complementing the country’s existing exports of food, spices, and daily consumer goods already familiar to Saudi consumers.

Yusron added that the importer has pledged to continue orders if the products receive positive market feedback. “The importer has also expressed its commitment to continue ordering if these products gain a positive response from the Saudi market,” he noted.

Prior to the agreement, Al Itholah Trading representatives visited Pojok Indonesia at the KJRI Jeddah service center to explore Indonesia’s flagship products and potential trade partnerships.

This milestone highlights Indonesia’s growing role in herbal product exports, strengthens its foothold in the Saudi Arabian market, and underscores the importance of trade facilitation by KJRI and ITPC in expanding international business opportunities. ***
