RRI.CO.ID, Boyolali - A woodcraft business from Boyolali has expanded into international markets after starting as a home-based venture during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kreasi Kayukuu now exports decorative products to around 24 countries across Europe and the Middle East.

The business was founded in 2020 by entrepreneur Fatta Yasin M after losing his job. He combined his drawing hobby with a desire to remain productive during the pandemic.

Initially, the company focused on wooden calligraphy products using CNC technology. However, early production challenges forced the business to adapt and explore paper-based crafts.

Instead of giving up, Fatta used the experience to develop new products and strengthen operations. Revenue from those products later enabled the company to expand its production capacity.

Today, Kreasi Kayukuu produces nearly 600 customized products using plywood, acrylic, paper, and pine wood. Its products are marketed throughout Indonesia and shipped to customers overseas.

The company's growth has increased employment opportunities in the local community. What began with two workers now supports more than 50 employees.

Speaking at his workshop in Boyolali on Saturday, June 13, 2026, he said marketplace training became a turning point for the business. He explained how Kreasi Kayukuu expanded beyond its original focus on calligraphy.

“However, I continued trying to keep this business running. Participating in marketplace training became a turning point for the business. From only selling calligraphy, Kreasi Kayukuu began expanding into wedding decorations, birthday decorations, and various other custom products,” he said.

Fatta also highlighted the importance of Indonesian government support through export and digital marketing training. Promotional opportunities and exhibition participation have helped the company expand its market reach.

The company records average monthly revenue of Rp700 million to Rp800 million. Central Java officials said SMEs continue receiving support through digitalization, certification, and market development programs.
