RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian Ministry of Trade has set the Reference Price (HR) for crude palm oil (CPO) for June 2026 at USD 1,029.51 per metric ton (MT). This figure is down 1.91 percent from the May CPO Reference Price of USD 1,049.58 per MT.

The Director General of Foreign Trade at the Ministry, Tommy Andana, said that this decline is due to reduced demand from major importing countries, such as India.

“Based on the applicable Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK), the government imposes an Export Duty (BK) on CPO of USD 148 per MT and an Export Levy (PE) on CPO of 12.5 percent of the HR CPO for the June 2026 period, amounting to USD 128.6892 per MT,” Tommy explained in his statement in Jakarta, as quoted from the ministry’s official website on Saturday, May 30.

The HR is determined based on the average CPO price for the period from April 20 to May 19, 2026. In accordance with the provisions of Minister of Trade Regulation No. 35/2025, the reference value is based on the average price from the Indonesia CPO Exchange and the Malaysia CPO Exchange, as both are the sources closest to the median value.

In addition to CPO, the government set the reference price for branded packaged Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized (RBD) palm olein cooking oil with a maximum net weight of 25 kilograms at USD 33 per MT. This provision is set out in the Minister of Trade Decree No. 1415/2026.

Meanwhile, the HR for cocoa beans in June 2026 rose to USD 3,832.17 per MT, up 17.24 percent from the previous month. This increase also drove the Export Reference Price (HPE) for cocoa beans to USD 3,511 per MT.

“There has been an increase in the HR and HPE for cocoa beans due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which has led to higher logistics, insurance, and fuel costs. Additionally, a decline in supply from Nigeria has also contributed to this increase,” said Tommy.

The HPE for leather products for the June 2026 period remained unchanged from the previous period. Furthermore, the HPE for chipwood—processed wood with a cross-sectional area of 1,000–4,000 mm² from sungkai plantation forests—and for special-grade merbau processed wood with a cross-sectional area of 4,000–10,000 mm² also remained unchanged.

However, the HPE for pine resin for the June 2026 period was set at USD 980 per MT. This price represents a 6.99 percent increase compared to the May 2026 period.

Increases also occurred in the HPE for veneer wood from natural forests and plantation forests, as well as processed wood with a cross-sectional area of 1,000–4,000 mm² from meranti, merbau, mixed forest, other assortments, ebony, and plantation forest species such as acacia, sengon, balsa, eucalyptus, and others.

Meanwhile, there was a decrease in HPE for wooden sheets for packing boxes; wood in chips or particles; and processed wood with a cross-sectional area of 1,000–4,000 mm² from teak and plantation forests such as pine, gmelina, and rubber.

The determination of the HR for CPO, the HR and HPE for cocoa beans, the HPE for leather products, the HPE for wood products, and the HPE for pine resin is outlined in Minister of Trade Decision No. 1414/2026. ***
