RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s food and beverage industry is strengthening its global footprint, with the Ministry of Trade recording potential transactions worth IDR 230 billion at the Food and Hotel Asia (FHA) 2026 exhibition in Singapore recently.

The event showcased Indonesia’s diverse products to international buyers, reinforcing Singapore’s role as a gateway for global market access.

The Trade Ministry reported 14 export contracts valued at USD 3.17 million (IDR 54.5 billion) covering honey, organic spices, agricultural goods, and other food and beverage products.

In addition, potential deals worth USD 10.3 million (IDR 177 billion) were noted for healthy instant noodles, organic snacks, seafood, dairy, spices, and other F&B items.

“Indonesia’s participation is an opportunity to expand market access into the global hospitality industry while strengthening ties between Indonesian businesses and Singaporean buyers,” Trade Ministry's Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, said, as quoted by Antara.

The Indonesian Pavilion featured products from 40 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), alongside offerings from 13 medium and large-scale companies.

According to Indonesia’s Trade Attaché in Singapore, Billy Anugrah, the participation reflects a sustained effort to promote Indonesian F&B products internationally.

“Food and beverage exports have been one of Indonesia’s backbones over the past five years. Showcasing our products at international exhibitions is a form of continuous promotion to penetrate global markets,” Billy noted.

Indonesia’s trade ties with Singapore remain significant. From January to March 2026, bilateral trade totaled USD 7.78 billion, with Indonesia’s exports reaching USD 2.94 billion and imports at USD 4.84 billion.

In 2025, overall trade stood at USD 32.87 billion, positioning Singapore as Indonesia’s fifth-largest export destination and second-largest import source between 2020–2025.

Food and beverage exports alone reached USD 44.96 billion in 2025, up 2.38 percent year-on-year. For the Singapore market specifically, growth was even stronger at 49.1 percent. ***
