RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has confirmed that liquidity in Indonesia’s banking sector remains adequate despite global economic pressures, supported by ratios well above regulatory thresholds.

OJK reported that the Loan‑to‑Deposit Ratio (LDR) in April 2026 stood at 86.88 percent. The Liquidity Ratio to Non‑Core Deposits (AL/NCD) reached 111.13 percent, while the Liquidity Ratio to Third‑Party Funds (AL/DPK) was 25.39 percent. These figures are significantly higher than the respective thresholds of 50 percent and 10 percent.

The agency assessed that these conditions show the banking sector’s intermediation function remains sound, with foreign exchange transaction services for the public also stable.

Amid global geopolitical turmoil, OJK continues to monitor the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on the banking sector. The strengthening of the US dollar index is expected to increase volatility in emerging market currencies.

Nevertheless, OJK stated that banks’ direct exposure to exchange rate risk remains under control. This is reflected in the Net Foreign Exchange Position (NFXP) ratio, which is well below the 20 percent capital limit.

The agency is also monitoring potential pressures from imported inflation and cost‑push inflation, particularly due to rising global oil prices. It noted that fluctuations in foreign exchange demand remain within reasonable limits and are viewed as part of public asset diversification.

To maintain financial system stability, OJK continues to strengthen coordination with Bank Indonesia (BI), the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), and the Ministry of Finance through the Committee for Financial System Stability (CFSS) framework. (Gusti Panji)
