Indonesia Records USD 88.48 Million in Potential Deals at SIAL Shanghai 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Shanghai - Indonesian food and beverage (F&B) products are strengthening their presence in global markets, with participation in the Salon International de l’Alimentation (SIAL) Shanghai 2026 and the Indonesian Trade Mission generating potential transactions worth USD 88.48 million.

The Indonesian Deputy Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, said the achievement stems from MoUs, business matchmaking, and transactions made during the exhibition.

“China is an important and promising trading partner. The series of activities at SIAL and the Trade Mission recorded potential transactions worth USD 88.48 million. This achievement further solidifies the position of the food and beverage industry as one of Indonesia’s largest manufacturing sectors, contributing significantly to the economy and trade,” she said in Shanghai on Friday, May 22, 2026, as quoted on the ministry's official website.

A total of 12 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth USD 60.34 million were signed during the event. Products marketed included edible bird’s nest, frozen durian, snake fruit, seaweed, sea cucumber, coffee, vanilla, palm sugar, coconut derivatives, banana chips, fish floss, tuna floss, sambal, tempe chips, fruit chips, and processed foods.

Additional potential transactions during the exhibition reached USD 2.4 million, with strong demand for processed almonds and dried shredded coconut.

One‑on‑one business matching sessions recorded trade opportunities worth USD 25.89 million, with buyers showing interest in coffee, black pepper, cocoa powder, mangosteen, coconut charcoal, palm sugar, canned pineapple, and pineapple juice.

PT Aditama Tunggal Perkasa representative Rizky Adiliah expressed pride in joining the trade mission, noting contracts signed with Chinese buyers for flagship products such as cocopeat, cocofiber, and cocobristle. “This success is tangible proof that Indonesia’s coconut‑derived products possess quality, competitiveness, and immense global market potential,” he said.

SIAL Shanghai 2026, held from May 18–20 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, attracted more than 5,000 participants from 75 countries and 183,000 visitors from 132 countries.

The Indonesian Pavilion, themed “Indonesian Coffee and Food: Rich in Flavor, Exceptional in Quality”, showcased products from 17 companies. PT Ramantha Kawanua Indonesia’s Crispy Tuna Floss won a Silver Award at the SIAL Innovation Awards, further boosting Indonesia’s profile. ***
