RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is expanding its exports to Latin American markets through a trade fair in Mexico, aiming to boost sales of non‑oil and gas products while strengthening business ties between the two countries.
The Ministry of Trade, through the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in Mexico City and in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy, is presenting the Indonesia Pavilion at the 2026 Asociación Nacional de Tiendas de Autoservicio y Departamentales (ANTAD) trade fair in Guadalajara, Mexico. The event, held from May 18–20, showcases a range of national flagship products.
“Indonesia is committed to enhancing economic, trade, and investment cooperation, and continues to strive to strengthen and improve relations with Mexico as one of Indonesia’s strategic partners in Latin America,” said Indonesian Ambassador to Mexico Tofery Primanda Soetikno, as quoted by Antara in Jakarta on Friday, May 22, 2026.
Tofery noted that Indonesia and Mexico have significant opportunities to deepen bilateral trade. He added that similarities in product characteristics could drive innovation and diversification in Indonesia, making its products more competitive in the Mexican market.
Director of ITPC Mexico City, Leonardo Silaban, praised the enthusiasm of Indonesian businesses participating in ANTAD. He expects the number of participants and the variety of products to continue growing in future editions, expanding Indonesia’s penetration in the Mexican market and strengthening business networks across Latin America.
During the exhibition, PT Mayora Indah Tbk. and JS‑JJJ signed a memorandum of understanding to distribute Indonesian products in Mexico. Dulces de las Delicias also signed a letter of intent to explore the import and distribution of Indonesian food and beverages.
The Indonesia‑Mexico Business Forum was held alongside the exhibition, bringing together 30 members of the Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Comercio Exterior, Inversión y Tecnología (COMCE) Western Region from the food and beverage sector with Indonesian business actors.
The meeting was reinforced by a dinner with business partners from the food, automotive, textile, animal feed, and natural stone industries. ***
