RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Whitesky Group Founder and CEO, Denon Prawiraatmadja, encouraged Intelligent Transport System Indonesia (ITS Indonesia/ITSI) to play a strategic role in the development of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) in Indonesia and the region.

He made the statement in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the future of transportation and the development of Urban Air Mobility with the President of Intelligent Transport System Indonesia (ITS Indonesia), William P. Sabandar, which was attended by stakeholders from the transportation, technology, industry, and regulatory sectors.

According to him, Indonesia has a significant opportunity to become a major player in the development of the UAM ecosystem in Southeast Asia, especially with the support of increasingly strong cross-sector collaboration.

"Given Indonesia's geographical characteristics and evolving mobility needs, the opportunity for developing Urban Air Mobility in Indonesia is actually enormous. The challenge now is how to build an integrated ecosystem that is ready for long-term growth," the CEO said.

He conveyed ITS Indonesia holds a very strategic position in driving the integration of future transportation systems, including the development of Urban Air Mobility as part of the national mobility transformation.

According to him, the Intelligent Transport System concept developed by ITS Indonesia aligns with the UAM vision developed by the Whitesky Group. "ITS Indonesia aligns with the Urban Air Mobility concept that we have been promoting. In the future, transportation systems cannot operate in isolation. Everything must be inter-connected so that public mobility can be more efficient and adaptive," he mentioned.

He believes that the development of Urban Air Mobility is not only about urban air transportation, but also about how to create a mobility system capable of addressing the challenges of future urbanization, connectivity, and efficiency.
