Local Crafts Ready to Compete Globally through ASIK Kriya

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy remains committed to encouraging the growth of the craft subsector through the Batch 3 Creative Economy Export Acceleration (ASIK) Craft Bootcamp. This program, attended by 20 selected brands from across Indonesia, serves as a bridge for craft activists to develop and become globally competitive.
Participants will receive intensive training for five days from May 4-8, 2026, in South Tangerang. They come from various regions, including Jakarta, Bogor, South Tangerang, Kebumen, Bandung, Cilegon, Sukabumi, Sukoharjo, Sidoarjo, Yogyakarta, Jember, Bali, as well as West Lombok and Binjai.
All participants have undergone rigorous curation by practitioners, considering aspects of product quality, innovation value, design originality, and the potential for business sustainability that attracts international buyers.
ASIK Craft is an ongoing commitment by the Ministry of Creative Economy, following the success of the previous two batches, which involved 40 brands. ASIK Kriya is designed not just for technical training, but rather as a comprehensive business development ecosystem that encompasses strengthening brand identity, developing products based on market needs, and mentoring to reach the export market.
"Through ASIK Kriya, it is hoped that business actors will not only be able to improve product quality but also create broader economic and social impacts, including increased income, employment, and strengthening the creative economy ecosystem in their respective regions," Deputy for Creativity, Culture, and Design at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Yuke Sri Rahayu conveyed on Monday, May 4, 2026.
