RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The government is preparing measures to ease cost pressures in the industrial sector, particularly for businesses affected by rising plastic raw material prices.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, said the government will discuss providing stimulus or fiscal support for plastic-using industries at a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
“Tomorrow, we will discuss this at a meeting with the National Economic Acceleration Task Force,” Minister Airlangga said on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs office in Jakarta, as quoted by Antara.
He explained that the discussion will focus on efforts to overcome the obstacles businesses face, including higher production costs due to surging plastic prices.
The Task Force for the Acceleration of Government Programs is chaired by Minister Airlangga Hartarto, with the Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, serving as deputy chair.
Minister Airlangga has not yet detailed the form of the incentives to be provided, but emphasized that the meeting reflects the government’s rapid response to challenges facing the industrial sector.
The initiative aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s vision, who established the task force through Presidential Decree No. 4/2026. The body is tasked with accelerating strategic programs to sustain national economic growth.
Beyond stimulus discussions, the task force has a broad mandate: coordinating priority government programs, monitoring budget realization, and formulating breakthrough measures to swiftly and comprehensively resolve strategic obstacles.
Through this forum, the government is expected to design policies that are more adaptive to global and domestic pressures, while maintaining industrial competitiveness amid rising raw material costs. ***
