RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku, the Commercial & Trading subholding of state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina, brought the Kelompok Tenun Ikat Mawar, a group of traditional weavers, to the Semarak Layanan Artha & UMKM Maluku (SALAM) FEST 2026 through the Pattimura Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT).
The event, organized by Bank Indonesia’s Maluku Representative Office on April 16–18, 2026, served as a promotional platform for businesses across various sectors.
SALAM FEST showcased culinary products, handicrafts, and creative economy offerings, while also connecting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) directly with the market. The festival further strengthened Ambon’s position as a hub for creative economy development in the Maluku region.
Kelompok Tenun Ikat Mawar presented woven products made with natural dyes derived from local materials, combining Tanimbar cultural preservation with eco-friendly production practices.
Their booth attracted visitors with premium woven fabrics and derivative products such as accessories. Distinctive motifs and traditional processes became the main draw for market interest.
Devianty Lusi, leader of the weaving group, expressed pride in introducing Tanimbar Ikat Weaving at the SALAM Fest x Molucas Digifest event.
She also appreciated the support provided by Pertamina AFT Pattimura. “This is a significant step for us to expand our market and continue preserving our culture through weaving works that utilize eco-friendly natural dyes and hold high value,” she said in Ambon on Monday, April 27, 2026.
AFT Pattimura Manager Febri Nur Faizin emphasized that the participation was a concrete step in empowering local SMEs, particularly Pertamina Patra Niaga’s CSR-supported partners. “Participation in SALAM FEST is expected to serve as a bridge for local products to reach broader markets and open new business collaboration opportunities,” he said.
The initiative is part of Pertamina’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program under the economic pillar. Continuous support is expected to ensure the sustainability of ikat weaving while increasing added value for artisans.
Looking ahead, Pertamina aims to have Tenun Ikat Mawar products penetrate national and international markets. The effort is also expected to inspire other MSMEs in Maluku to innovate and become more competitive. (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
