RI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government’s efforts to expand into non-traditional markets are beginning to bear fruit. The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), in collaboration with the Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO), has successfully boosted exports of organic and liquid coconut sugar.

This time, 24 tons of coconut sugar will be exported to Ghana. Valued at approximately IDR 1.1 billion (approx. USD 63,611), the shipment consists of products from CV Mannah Anugerah Sejahtera, dispatched from Semarang, Central Java.

Deputy for Medium-Sized Enterprises at the ministry, Bagus Rachman, said the achievement proves that the government’s strategy to penetrate non-traditional markets is yielding concrete results.

According to him, the export to Ghana reflects the expanding reach of Indonesian MSME products, not only in traditional markets but also in the promising African region.

“This demonstrates that locally sourced products such as coconut sugar can compete in the global market by meeting standards of quality, sustainability, and food safety,” Bagus said in a statement on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

The achievement follows the 2025 Europe Selling Mission Program, which connected Indonesian businesses with international buyers and expanded export networks.

Looking ahead, the ministry will strengthen promotion and broaden market access through business matching, product curation, and capacity-building for entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, SIPPO Indonesia’s Export Promotion Manager, Andina Auria Dwi Putri, noted that the collaboration successfully brought in high-quality suppliers whose products align with global market needs.

Steven Santoso, director of CV Mannah Anugerah Sejahtera, acknowledged that support from the government and SIPPO has been invaluable, particularly in opening access to international markets through trade missions to Europe. “This program provides significant benefits, from preparation to meeting potential buyers in person,” he said.
