RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta — Indonesia's Trade Minister, Budi Santoso stated that the National Shopping Program for the first quarter of 2026 successfully exceeded its target and showed that people’s purchasing power remains strong. The program included Friday Mubarak and Belanja di Indonesia Aja (BINA) for Eid 2026, implemented through synergy between the Ministry of Trade and business players.

“Overall, the realization of the National Shopping Program for the first quarter of 2026 reached Rp184.02 trillion, exceeding the target of Rp172.38 trillion,” he said in an official statement on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

The Friday Mubarak program, organized by the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (APRINDO), recorded transactions worth Rp129.12 trillion, or 8.5 percent above target. The program ran from February 11 to March 31, 2026, involving hundreds of retail brands, shopping centers, and traditional markets across Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the BINA Eid 2026 program, organized by the Indonesian Shopping Center Retailers and Tenants Association (HIPPINDO), posted transactions worth Rp54.9 trillion, or 2.8 percent above target. The program ran from March 6 to 30, 2026, involving around 800 brands and 80,000 retail outlets in 24 provinces.

According to him, this achievement shows that the National Shopping Program plays an important role in maintaining economic growth, especially through strengthening household consumption.

In addition to transaction value, public visits to shopping centers also increased. The Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI) recorded a 12 percent increase in visits during Ramadan and the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday compared with the same period last year.

The government is also optimistic that the positive trend will continue throughout 2026 through various national shopping programs that have been prepared together with business associations. Budi Santoso emphasized that the government will continue to encourage collaboration with modern retail, shopping centers, and MSMEs to boost domestic trade.
