RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta -Indonesia has set a target of USD 17.5 billion in transactions for the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), which will take place on October 14–18, 2026, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD in Tangerang, Banten.
Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso, announced the target during the launch of preparations on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Trade Ministry office in Jakarta.
Last year’s expo exceeded expectations, recording USD 22.83 billion in transactions against an initial target of USD 16.5 billion. Santoso expressed optimism that this year’s target can also be surpassed with more comprehensive preparation.
“TEI’s target last year was USD 16.5 billion, and alhamdulillah it was realized up to USD 22.83 billion. This year, we are increasing the target to USD 17.5 billion. We are optimistic that this year’s target can be exceeded with more comprehensive preparation,” he said, as quoted on the Ministry's official website.
The ministry has adopted a three-stage strategy: pre-exhibition business matching, transaction finalization during the event, and post-expo contract monitoring.
Minister Budi explained that business matching is facilitated early through Indonesia’s trade representatives abroad, allowing buyers to finalize transactions during the expo, or even before it begins. He also invited businesses, associations, and stakeholders to use TEI as an opportunity to expand export markets and strengthen international trade networks.
TEI 2026 will carry the theme “The Ultimate Hub for Global Sourcing.”
Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, said the theme reflects Indonesia’s readiness to supply competitive and sustainable products across manufacturing, agriculture, and technology sectors. “TEI is not just an exhibition, but a strategic momentum to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global supply chain,” she said.
This year’s expo will feature five priority sectors: food and agricultural products, manufactured goods, industrial estates, fashion and crafts, and furniture and home décor.
Ten halls at ICE BSD will be arranged to maximize business matching and trade transactions. Special highlights include dedicated halls for coffee, tea, and cocoa, featuring the Cup of Excellence and the Indonesia Coffee Competition, as well as expanded displays for furniture and home décor.
To attract international buyers, the organizer PT Debindo Multi Adhiswasti is introducing a “buyer hospitality” program, offering 250 complimentary hotel rooms for curated buyers.
Director Vibiadhi Swasti Pradana said the initiative is intended to maximize transaction opportunities during the exhibition. “This step is expected to be a concrete incentive to attract potential new buyers while maximizing transaction opportunities during the exhibition,” he said.
TEI 2026 will also expand its international reach through collaborations with global events such as the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) and the Global Sourcing Expo in Australia.
The Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo) confirmed its participation, bringing small and medium enterprises to showcase curated products. Aprindo noted that TEI provides a strategic platform for SMEs to connect with domestic and international buyers.
Meanwhile, PT Burden Eagle Indonesia expressed hope for continued innovation in providing visitor data access to facilitate business approaches before and during the expo, and praised the organizer’s responsiveness during preparations. ***
