RRI.CO.ID, Vancouver – The Indonesian Pavilion took part in the Canadian Health Food Association Natural Organic Wellness (CHFA NOW) 2026 trade show through a collaboration between the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center Vancouver and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Vancouver.

The exhibition, held on February 21–22, 2026, at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Canada, is one of the country’s largest trade events promoting natural, healthy, and organic products. This year’s CHFA NOW featured 900 exhibitors and drew around 3,000 business participants, including distributors and retail stores from across Canada.

Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Vancouver, Nina Kurnia Widhi, said Indonesia’s participation in CHFA marked its fourth appearance and would continue in order to further promote Indonesian natural and organic products in Canada through collaboration between the consulate and ITPC Vancouver.

“Indonesia’s participation in CHFA marks its fourth appearance and will continue in order to further promote Indonesian natural and organic products in Canada, carried out through collaboration between the Consulate General and ITPC Vancouver,” Nina said.

Nina, accompanied by ITPC Vancouver head Silvi Mustikawati, officially opened the Indonesian Pavilion on February 21.

The pavilion introduced leading natural and organic products from Exotique Foods, PT Azaki Food International, PT IndoWooyang, PT Beta Moringa Indonesia, PT Wins Indonesia Sukses, PT Indo Tropical Group, Omitosh World FZCO, and Archipelago Food Distributor Ltd.

The pavilion displayed a range of products, including Indonesian specialty teas and coffees, tempeh chips, fruit chips, root vegetable chips, organic coconut sugar, natural sweeteners, healthy noodle products made from natural ingredients, aromatic rice, and dried sweet potatoes.

Nina said Indonesia’s participation aimed not only to showcase the diversity of its natural products but also to highlight the uniqueness of Indonesian goods made with certified organic ingredients.

Silvi said participation in CHFA provided an opportunity to position Indonesian products as a promising option in Canada’s competitive market.

“We also want to show that Indonesia has food and beverage products that prioritize consumers’ health through selected organic raw materials. We hope that the potential trade transaction of USD 7.6 million generated from this exhibition can be realized,” she said.

One of the exhibitors, PT Azaki Food International, promotes the vision of bringing tempeh to the global stage as a traditional Indonesian superfood.

“We express our deepest gratitude to ITPC and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Vancouver for inviting us. Through this direct participation, we gained deeper insights into market requirements, consumer preferences, quality standards, and expectations for product innovation. We were also connected with our target market, including buyers, distributors, and consumers with a strong interest in healthy, plant-based food products,” said PT Azaki Food International CEO Cucup Ruhiyat.

In 2025, total trade between Indonesia and Canada reached USD 4.36 billion, up 22 percent from USD 3.6 billion the previous year. Indonesian exports to Canada grew by 17.68 percent, rising from USD 1.44 billion in 2024 to USD 1.69 billion in 2025.

“The figures reflect significant potential that can continue to be developed through synergy among various stakeholders and active participation in trade exhibitions such as CHFA NOW, and can be further enhanced through the utilization of the Indonesia-Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ICA-CEPA) once it enters the implementation phase,” Silvi said.

She added that, according to a Global Organic Trade report, Indonesia’s organic market is projected to grow at a compound annualrate of 7.8 percent between 2023 and 2028, with the market value expected to reach USD 1.67 billion by 2028.

“This growth projection opens strategic opportunities to further strengthen Indonesia’s position and increase exports of Indonesian organic products to international markets, particularly to countries with growing consumer preference for quality organic products,” Silvi concluded. ***
