RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) decided to maintain its benchmark interest rate, or BI Rate, at 4.75 percent during the February 2026 Board of Governors’ Meeting (RDG), held on February 18–19. The central bank also kept the deposit facility rate at 3.75 percent and the lending facility rate at 5.50 percent.

BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said the decision was aimed at maintaining stability in the rupiah exchange rateand ensuring inflation remained under control.

“This decision is consistent with the current policy focus on strengthening the stabilization of the rupiah exchange rate amid continued high global financial market uncertainty, to support the achievement of the 2026–2027 inflation target and encourage economic growth,” Perry said in an online press conference in Jakarta on Thursday, February 19, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

He added that BI would continue to strengthen the effectiveness of monetary and macroprudential policy easing measures already in place, while remaining open to evaluating further reductions in the BI Rate depending on economic conditions.

BI projects that inflation in 2026–2027 will remain under control within the target range of 2.5 percent plus or minus 1 percent. The central bank expects this price stability to provide a foundation for accelerating national economic growth. ***
