RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Manpower Ministry has partnered with e-commerce platform Shopee Indonesia to launch a digital skills training program to strengthen workforce competitiveness in the digital economy.

Manpower Minister Yassierli launched the Shopee Affiliate Training of Trainers program in Bekasi, West Java, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. The three-day intensive training brought together 100 participants from various regions across the country.

The participants were instructors from Regional Vocational and Productivity Training Centers (BPVP). They received training materials from instructors at Shopee’s MSME Campus, who are certified by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).

Minister Yassierli said the collaboration marked a strategic step toward building a more adaptable workforce, adding that digital skills training could create alternative employment opportunities for Indonesians.

“The transformation of the world of work requires us to continue adapting. The Shopee Affiliate Training of Trainers program is expected to expand job opportunities while encouraging improvements in workforce competency so that workers can compete in the digital era,” Minister Yassierli said.

He added that vocational training center instructors must serve as effective agents of change in their regions by sharing their newly acquired knowledge with local communities and young job seekers.

“Collaboration between the government and the private sector, like this, is key to accelerating national workforce competency development. We hope this program can make a tangible contribution to job creation, productivity gains, and inclusive, sustainable digital economic growth,” he said.

Shopee Indonesia Deputy Director of Public Affairs Radynal Nataprawira said the company shared best practices to support the role of vocational centers across regions. “This collaboration reflects Shopee’s commitment to supporting digital skills development in Indonesia, particularly in preparing talent that is relevant to the needs of today’s digital economy,” Radynal said.

Through the Training of Trainers program, vocational instructors are expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of affiliate marketing practices and serve as key channels for disseminating the knowledge to communities nationwide.

Shopee’s MSME Campus Teacher Academy aims to train 500 instructors by the end of 2026 in order to expand the program’s reach to more vocational training centers across Indonesia.

Since its establishment, Shopee’s MSME Campus has provided mentoring and education to millions of business owners. The platform has delivered more than 350,000 training hoursand supports nearly 400 learning modules.

The ministry and Shopee said they remain committed to strengthening collaboration on digital-skills-based vocational training tobuild a workforce that can leverage economic opportunities more effectively. ***
