RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Related to holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 2026, the Indonesian government is seeking to boost national economic growth through a number of policies. The policies include transportation discounts, the implementation of work from anywhere (WFA), and the distribution of food aid.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, launched the First Economic Stimulus Package 2026 at Gambir Station, Jakarta, Tuesday, 10 February 2026. He said this step was taken because it had proven effective in boosting economic growth to exceed five percent in the previous year.

“Eid al-Fitr in the previous period, including Christmas and New Year, increased community mobility and tourism activities, thereby boosting economic growth in the fourth quarter to 5.39 percent,” he conveyed.

Furthermore, for this year, Airlangga explained that the allocated budget exceeds nine hundred billion rupiah, sourced from both the state budget and non-state funds.

The minister further stated, “So, this year, in conjunction with the national holidays, the government is providing economic stimulus in the form of transportation discounts, with a total budget of 911.16 billion rupiah from the state budget and non-state budget sources.”

The details of the transportation stimulus include discounts for rail and sea transportation of 30 percent. In addition, there is a 100 percent exemption or discount for ASDP crossings, as well as a 17 to 18 percent discount on economy class airline tickets for domestic travel.

In addition to transportation support, the government also established a WFA scheme on March 16-17 and March 25-27, 2026. Furthermore, the government distributed food aid in the form of 10 kilograms of rice and 2 litters of cooking oil to more than 35 million beneficiary families.
